Our members and their families were given a special treat at the Fireside hosted by Karsten and Helle recently.

The hosts had organized a special cookery demonstration and an exhibition and sale of Jewellery by one of the leading names in the business.

The keenest interest in the cookery demonstration was displayed by the men who were all taught how to bake a cake in just five minutes using a microwave oven. There was also no shortage of volunteers to taste the final product!

The questions too all seemed to come from the men present. “If it takes just five minutes to bake a cake, how come my wife spends all morning baking one?” asked a one member taking special care to note that his wife did not overhear.

The Jewellery exhibition and Sale was very popular with the ladies who were seen choosing early Christmas gifts, anniversary, birthday and gifts for almost any event they could think of.

The novelty of the idea meant that the husbands had nowhere to hide or any valid excuse to offer – there will certainly be a lot of new jewellery on display at the next club event!
